AIARE 1 and AIARE 2 courses include AIARE online cirriculum, AIARE field blue book, student manual and use of Ortovox avalanche safety equipment (transceiver, probe, shovel, and pack). Ski and Splitboard rentals are available from Tahoe Mountain Sports where we are located.

You will learn tools to apply The AIARE Framework, the repeatable process you learned in an AIARE 1, to new situations and to self-direct your learning after the course. You will learn more skills to connect weather, snowpack and avalanche processes, and identify how these processes relate to observations and travel within avalanche terrain. There will be 8 hours of self-paced pre-course on-line curriculum that students must complete prior to their course along with 2 full days of outdoor field instruction.
