Tahoe Mountain School is excited to reopen guiding operations starting on June 1, 2020. After being closed since the middle of March due to Covid-19 state orders, we are ready to open our summer rock climbing, hiking, and wilderness medicine programs. The health and safety of our clients and staff remain our top priority. With minor modifications listed below, we will comply with state guidelines and do our part in the mitigation of Covid-19.
All our programs will be outdoor based with small group sizes. We will be meeting at the trailhead for all our adventures. To start off, we will only be open for private groups and will not schedule open group courses. Our liability and medical forms will all be completed before the courses to limit close contact with our staff. Additional health screenings will check for Covid-19 symptoms and exposure history. If a client does not pass the Covid-19 health screenings, they will be rescheduled to a later course. Masks will be required when you show up and throughout your day with us. If you do not have your own mask, TMS will provide one for you at no cost. Hand sanitizer will be available on site for personal hygiene. All our group gear and rental gear will be cleaned each day and disinfected. We will practice physical distancing with 6’ of space between clients and staff.
We would like to thank everyone for their continued support during these challenging times. Check back on our website for additional course offerings throughout the summer. Our winter 2020-2021 schedule is up, if you are interested in registering for an avalanche course or introduction to backcountry skiing course. We look forward to seeing you in the mountains.
